MLB Ejection 169: Ron Kulpa (2; Mike Napoli)

HP Umpire Ron Kulpa ejected Red Sox 1B Mike Napoli for arguing a strike three call in the bottom of the 6th inning of the Yankees-Red Sox game. With two out and two on, Napoli took a 2-2 slider from Yankees pitcher

Joba Chamberlain for a called third strike. Replays indicate the pitch was located thigh high and over the outer half of home plate (sz_bot 1.490, pz 1.702; px 0.346), the call was correct. At the time of the ejection, the Red Sox were leading, 7-1. The Red Sox ultimately won the contest, 9-2.
