2B Umpire Jerry Layne ejected Chicago White Sox Bench Coach Mark Parent for Unsportsmanlike-NEC during the pre-game conference and lineup card exchange at home plate for the Rangers-White Sox game.
With both team's bench coaches, a pre-game guest and cameraman in attendance, Parent was ejected after discussing an inappropriate matter with crew chief U2 Layne. Replays indicate the game hadn't yet started and no calls had been made, the call was irrecusable. At the time of the ejection, the contest was tied, 0-0.
