With two out and two on, Royals batter Billy Butler hit a 1-0 changeup from White Sox pitcher Chris Sale to right field for a single, right fielder Alex Rios throwing home to catcher Tyler Flowers as Royals baserunner R2 Lorenzo Cain attempted to score. Replays indicate Flowers' glove appeared to tag Cain prior to Cain's foot touching home plate, the call was incorrect. At the time of the ejection, the contest was tied, 1-1. The White Sox ultimately won the contest, 5-4.
