In the bottom of the 8th, with one out and none on, Pedroia attempted to check his swing on a 0-2 curveball from Rangers pitcher Mike Adams, ruled a swinging strike on appeal by Nauert. Pursuant to UEFL Rule 6-2-b-5, the call was irrecusable. At the time of the ejection, the Rangers were leading, 5-3. The Rangers ultimately won the contest, 6-3.
