now I'm not a crew chief, so I don't know what they are told...but dale scott looks like a total tool watching this discussion take place. i would think that once someone is tossed, the CC should get him off the field??
As long as it's one on one and not heated/violent, the crew chief isn't going to get involved. He's there in case it does. Stepping in there could just escalate the situation.

Not really "Text Book". When he turned his back and started walking back to the plate the CC should of guided the manager to his dugout area. Even though it was "heated" he got his word in for a decent time and when the umpire don't want to talk or explain any further it is the crew chiefs job to get the manager back to the clubhouse. This situation is not horrible by any means but it's not textbook either. The CC didn't really do anything.
Side note... These ejections are the worst for an umpire! Waiting til the Manager gets out to the mound all the while starring at you. Then you waiting a bit and knowing that once I walk 60ft I'm gonna have to toss this guy! Im more of a spur the moment ejection guy lol

It's about time maddon got ejected. The rays have been struggling all year and maddon has only questioned a couple calls. When the team is struggling for no reason, manager needs to show he still has faith in them.
Shouldn't Iassogna only have 4 points, not 6?

that chart almost seems off.. it's like the plate was moved two inches... just seeems bizarre it would be off by that much and the entire right side of the zone would be balls while 5 inches on the other side are strikes

Thursday kudos: Chris Conroy calling a knuckleballer (RA Dickey) on the plate for the first time on a 90-plus degree afternoon in Washington. That can't be fun. Throw in how the Nats started a nasty lefty (Gio Gonzalez) and it must get even rougher.
More kudos to Conroy, who's strike zone was outstanding Yesterday. This is better than most Pro guys turn in. Conroy is someone who has impressed me quite a bit these last few years. I hope he gets an MLb job soon because plate jobs like this are what MLB needs to see.
