Video: Hunter tosses Dillard for throwing at Carroll
Somewhat similar to Hunter's first heave last year.
ReplyDeleteOn the one hand, it seems like a questionable move to toss Dillard. On the other hand, that pitch was way inside. It would make more sense though if it had been a Minnesota pitcher getting tossed.
The pitch right before that was also inside and almost hit him. I think thats why Wendelstedt threw him out.
ReplyDeleteDillard High fived his teammates. Hunter must have heard something. But he sucks!
ReplyDeleteDillard didn't high-5 anyone. I hate it when trolls just make stuff up.
ReplyDeleteKickers, that was the first pitch of the inning
ReplyDeleteTroll? He did and why did Weeks, Braun and Ramerez show up on the bench in a 16-2 game in the last inning if nothing was going on? And I'm no Fan of Hunter no Troll here , grow up
ReplyDelete@Anon 7:25 it was the 2nd pitch of the inning. Watch the video again and look at the count. C'mon man.
ReplyDeleteYet the ejection write-up says it was an 0-0 fastball, which is likely the cause of the confusion.
ReplyDeleteThis ejection is just ridiculous, it's a 14 run game in the ninth on a Sunday game. So even if it was on purpose, the twins wouldn't have a chance to retaliate. Second, he's a submariner. A pitch behind the back on a hitter is like one that sails to high on a regular pitcher. Release a little too early, it can happen.
ReplyDeleteWhy did Weeks, Braun, and Ramirez show up on the bench? Well, uh, I'd say that is where they belong until the game is over. You shouldn't get paid millions of dollars to go home early.
ReplyDeleteWeeks and Ramirez didn't play the entire game, likely because this was a day game after a night game, but good conspiracy theory.
ReplyDeleteFor those saying the ejection was ridiculous, you might want to read this:

According to Carroll, he asked Brewers catcher Jonathan Lucroy what the deal was after the first pitch, to which Lucroy replied, "Nyger Morgan." At that point, Wendelstedt told them both to "shut-up, it's part of the game." He then told Carroll to get in the box. After the second pitch, Hunter launched Dillard.
So, it does appear that Dillard was instructed to dust somebody. It might do some of you some good to do a little research and find some interviews before jumping to conclusions.
