With none out and none on, Yankees batter Russell Martin took a 1-2 cutter from Tigers pitcher Octavio Dotel for a called strike three. Replays indicate that the strike three pitch was thigh high and over the outside corner of the plate.* The previously two called strikes were also both within the bounds of the strike zone, the call was correct.* At the time of the ejection, the Tigers led, 6-5. The Yankees ultimately won the contest, 7-6.
