3B Umpire Jerry Layne ejected Astros Manager Brad Mills for arguing an out call in the bottom of the 6th inning of the Rangers-Astros game. With one out and one on, Astros batter Jeff Keppinger hit into a double play to Rangers shortstop Andres Blanco to second basemen Ian Kinsler to first basemen Michael Young. 1B Umpire Bob Davidson ruled Keppinger out at first base. The Rangers ultimately won the contest, 7-3.

Balkin' Bob strikes again. Guy is a terrible umpire and never admits when he gets it wrong.
kudos to the astros broadcasters for being spot on about bob's timing and yet not overly "homer" since the call was wrong and didn't go their way.
I would imagine by now MLB has issued Layne a laptop with dictation software to save him from writer's cramp, given his crew. The FNG may be the most solid guy on the crew.
Well, well, Balkin' Bob is at it once more, as Layne saves him his (I lost count) ejection of the month...
Eric Wedge just tossed in Braves-Mariners game. Heated argument ensued. Apparently, Wedge thought strike 3 to Cust was low in 2nd inning. Pitch looked good on replay; about to check pitch f/x.
Going to Astros game tonight, Davidson on the plate. Think there'll be any fireworks? ;-)
