With one out and one on, Mariners batter Jack Cust hit a 0-0 fastball from Twins pitcher Matt Capps to third baseman Danny Valencia, to second baseman Alexi Casilla to force out Mariners baserunner Miguel Olivo. Replays indicate although the throw was wide, Casilla briefly possessed the baseball while in contact with second base, the call was correct. At the time of the ejection, the Twins led the contest, 2-1. The Twins ultimately won the contest, 2-1.
