HP Umpire Paul Schrieber ejected Astros Pitching Coach Brad Arnsberg for arguing a ball call in the bottom of the 2nd inning of the Astros-Brewers game. With none out and none on, Brewers batter Casey McGehee took a 3-1 fastball from Astros pitcher Nelson Figueroa for a called fourth ball. Replays indicate the 0-0 pitch in McGehee's at bat ruled ball one, as well as the 3-0 pitch ruled ball four in the at bat immediately preceding McGehee's (Brewers batter Prince Fielder took four pitches for a four pitch walk) were located within the bounds of the strike zone (they were not borderline), the call was incorrect. At the time of the ejection, the contest was tied, 0-0. The Brewers ultimately won the contest, 14-7.
This is Paul Schrieber (43)'s first ejection of 2011.
Paul Schrieber now has -2 points in the Umpire Ejection Fantasy League (0 Previous + 2 MLB + -4 Incorrect Call = -2).
This is the 13th ejection of 2011.
