Bad enough announcing on the Alan Porter EJ....but this is rock bottom. Bo Porter makes contact, and announcer says he is "knocking the chip" off HW's shoulder. That type of comment should be fine worthy.
Rabbit ears again. Why is HW ejecting someone on the mound? Porter is just venting. Wendelstedt shouldn't be listening out there.
(Sarcasm off)
They busted Hawk last year for lesser comments ... Porter didn't want to break up his conference and WAITED for Wendelstedt to show up ... thus BAITING his own EJ. Pretty sad.
I actually got pissed at your comment until I realized it was a joke. The sad thing is there are people out there that actually do think like that.
Aggressive crew as far as ejections.
These Houston commentators seem to forget the Carlson ejection against Boston back in August. They never announced on the video and they said, "second ejection of the series and second ejection of the season."
Can anyone with lip-reading skills see what Porter says?
I'm no lip reader. Looks like he said "where them pitches at?"
Ejection of the Year...
"Boom"
PARAPHRASE
"You just touched me" (Points to Shoulder and then waves Bo off)
"Jerry, I'm done with him..he's gone" and let's Layne handle it
Porter got what he wanted and got tossed. He was venting, but it was in the middle of the field and arguing balls & strikes. So he goes. But did HW need to overreact the way he did? The flip of the hand, the turning his back. If a player did the flip of the hand at HW, he'd be gone in a minute.
That this crew is aggressive as far as ejections.
Hunter Wendelstedt handled this ejection the way it should be handled. The manager waited for the umpire to break up the conference and then barked about the strike zone as soon as the umpire arrived at the mound. Wendelstedt gave the ejection signal and proceeded to walk away. When Bo Porter made contact, albeit slight, Wendelstedt indicated such, and continued to walk away, leaving it to the crew chief to handle. It's cut and dried. Porter basically ejected himself. There was no more discussion to be had, and Wendelstedt did his best to not participate after that.
