Off topic, but a rough day at first base for DiMuro in Dodgers-Mets. Off on about five calls in a 12-inning game, three of which helped the Mets (including a double down the line that appeared foul). Mattingly almost got tossed after he ruled first baseman came off bag for a throw. Replay didn't have a good angle on that one, but Mattingly saw something from his view in the dugout.
Mattingly should have gotten tossed. Not only for my prop predictions, but because that call was pretty poor.
Tough call for a second base umpire, he was completely straightlined out of the play and had to guess. Unfortunately, the guess was wrong.
Reyburn needs to keep his yap shut once the crew chief intercedes and starts backing Yost away. I think it makes the professional demeanor appear to be dubious when a coach is yelling, the umpire is silent, and THEN decides to start yelling from behind his colleagues...
This should be interesting!
How many games has Reyburn worked this year? seems like he's racking up a pretty impressive ejections:games umpired ratio so far.
Hope he enjoys AAA!
he's looked pretty unprofessional previously too i believe...he needs a lesson from bellino on that account.
What a terrible call at 2nd base. He was safe by about 3 full seconds! COME ON, DJ!!!!!!!!
UEFL Curse! Case play this morning, ejection this afternoon! Nice going Gil & Jeremy...
Brutal. I'm surprised he didn't take a dive when Yost yoked him.
@4:16, are you kidding me? That's not how Daniel Reyburn rolls. Daniel does keep his mouth shut until people get between him and the manager or player. Then, when it's safe, his mouth starts writing checks for the crew chief to cash. Daniel learned not to talk trash without protection in the Dominican League, where he was knocked down by a gust of wind from a punch that never landed.
Good for Yost, as he appears to have Daniel's number. He is thin-skinned to the extreme. Yost's theatrical mirrored ejection mechanic will drive an umpire like Daniel crazy.
I'm impressed with this forum. Nobody has complained about a bad call being a good ejection a couple of innings later. Maybe there is hope for all of us :)
Speaking of hope...and the Oscar goes to Ned Yost, for his leading role in "Impersonation of a Bad Umpire!" Way to give him the hook, Ned. Good thing for my Twinkies that he didn't do it in the 7th or the Royals may have been able to complete the comeback.
Ok for you young umpires please do not fold your arms after an ejection it looks confrontational... I'm not really impressed by DJ's style and judging by the late arrival of Kellog I'm guessing that they wanted to let him wear it a little out there.
We don't get many Triple A ejection videos, but here is one frm Friday Night. Kelvin Bultron ejected Koyie Hill and Luis Exposito for fighting. It starts at about the 49 second mark

Deejay may still be shellshocked from the massive blunt force trauma he suffered when JO pretended to hit him. That was a pretty hard lick he never took so cut him some slack. JO is such a badass that even when he throws a punch and misses by a foot, the energy waves travel through the air and coldcock the intended target.
Jose Offerman. He's the new Chuck Norris.
Deejay is a joke.
Has anyone else noticed that several of the recent ejections have involved people named Dan or Daniel?
Daniel Reyburn (Ejections 86, 93, 94), Dan Warthen (Ejection 88), Dan Bellino (Ejection 89), and Dan Iassogna (Ejection 91).
looks like fredi gonzalez got ejected by laz diaz
